In order to assist local law enforcement in implementing gun restriction measures, the Department of Justice established its own training facility on Saturday.
This newest office, called the National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center, will spend the $2 million that the DOJ has allocated for the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program. The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions assisted in the establishment of the ERPO center. Prosecutors, attorneys, judges, doctors, victim service providers and household members can obtain protection orders against gun owners they believe to be at risk by following the instructions on a simplified website.
Attorney General Merrick Garland stated of the center, “The National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center’s debut will offer our allies around the nation invaluable information to keep weapons out of the hands of persons who represent harm to themselves or others.”
Congress enacted the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act two years ago, which established a mechanism for financing state-level crisis intervention programs. The programs are applicable to drug courts, mental health courts, and veterans treatment courts, in addition to assisting states in taking action when someone reports a gun owner they believe to be at risk.

Thomas Massie (R-KY) posted on X, “A Federal Red Flag Center; We did not allow this.” Massie also pointed out that the Senate’s successful funding of the government in an early morning bipartisan vote occurred just hours before the announcement on Saturday.
“What portion of “must not be infringed” is unclear to you?” In her letter, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) cited the Second Amendment.

Massie, Greene, Cammack, Roy, and Greene did not vote in favor of the 2022 measure that started ERPO. Just four Republican representatives, Reps. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), Mike Turner (R-OH), Dave Joyce (R-OH), and Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), are still in the House out of the original 14 who voted in favor of the bill.Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said, “Nope.” His colleague senator from Utah, Mitt Romney, who is retiring this year, was one of the fifteen Republicans who voted in favor of the measure at the time he voted against it.
Although Massie and Greene suggested that the center’s opening coincided with the Senate’s decision to approve government funding, the center also received funding from the Bloomberg American Health Initiative in addition to the $2 million that the DOJ had allocated.
Following the findings of an independent panel, the sheriff may have been able to take the firearms from the guy who murdered eighteen people in a mass shooting in Lewiston due to a Maine statute. The panel found that the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s office was already authorized to take action under Maine’s “yellow flag” statute, which permits the seizure of weapons from an individual after a medical evaluation if it is determined that they pose a risk to the public or themselves.
Amazingly, the intent seems to be the elimination of guns. Another pie in the sky effort by liberal America. Guns are. and therefore will never be eliminated. The bottom line is that those of us who obey the laws will be the only ones harmed by these efforts!!!

This order for gun controls should be addressed by SCOTUS as soon as possible. It clearly addresses mental illness and guns but will be used against Conservative Chrisitian gun owners stating they have a mental illness automatically by their inept devotion to a false God. What I am reading about the illegal part of the DOJ is that if my wife gets ticked at me she can call them up and tell them I am in danger of hurting her and/or myself and they will come and take my guns and THEN have me evaluated by an anti-gun quack.

I just want to put my congressional members on notice, we are watching! The “Red Flag” laws are ill defined so as to be adaptive to the targeting of civilian weapons ownership confiscation! This administration is flooding states with over 11 million poorly investigated illegal immigrants but gifts them with all sorts of perks at taxpayers expense, then rushing to get them registered to vote, and declaring that they, the illegals have Second amendment rights. And how are congressional members’ duplicitous acts ever going to change those facts?
