Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott blasted the Biden administration’s border failures this week, taking to social media to show what his state is doing to secure the nation’s southern border.
“Texas National Guard Soldiers deploy tactical vehicles to the border in support of Operation Lone Star,” Abbott said.
“As Biden does nothing, the Lone Star State continues to surge manpower & equipment to put an end to the chaos at our southern border,” he added.
Abbott also appeared on “Hannity” and later posted a clip from the interview on Twitter. “Texans ― & all Americans ― demand & deserve a secure southern border & the protection of our nation’s sovereignty,” Abbott tweeted.
“We know Biden isn’t going to do it,” he added. “So, Texas will continue to take unprecedented action to secure the border.”
“The State of Texas is taking unprecedented steps to secure the border, and we will continue to respond in full force to keep Texans safe,” Abbott said in statement.
“The Biden Administration’s failure to enforce immigration laws and halt illegal crossings on a federal dam poses life-threatening risks to Texans and the migrants themselves,” he added.
It’s one thing Texas is known for. You don’t mess with Texas. Texans tend to have a strong independent streak that refuses to let problems go unaddressed. Abbott is showing his Texas traits in a full-blown retaliation to Biden’s epic fail on the border.
Even with 15,000 Haitians on the Texas border – unthinkable a year ago – Biden nor Harris showed up. Mayorkas flew in for a quick speech, but failed to call the problem a border crisis.
Not sure what reality he’s living in, but 15,000 illegal immigrants showing up at once has to be a crisis, especially when Biden thinks five-year-olds not wearing a mask at school is a crisis.
This week, a reporter even pointed out the hypocrisy by asking White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki if Biden has ever been to the border. She said she’d have to look into it. Days later, still no answer. It appears he’s never visited the border in his half-century long political career. He simply has no plan and no concern for securing the border.
So now Texas is building its own fence, using its own National Guard and spending its taxpayers’ money to defend its own border. They’re making jail space to detain people and doing all they can to slow down the flood of illegal immigration.
It feels like something we need an online fundraiser to support, but we’re talking about the border of our nation. We’re already paying for its security. We just can’t get our elected leaders to act.
It doesn’t seem possible this level of illegal immigration can continue for three more years – or God forbid seven. In the meantime, Texas will largely be on its own. But in the end, the saying is still true. Don’t mess with Texas.

There is a process for entering the country legally. We can even be much more liberal with letting people enter. But we need to insist that the legal process be followed.

I totally agree with the majority of those responding. This situation bothers me….an 89 year old patriot……tremendously. I love our country and want it to continue to be the America that I grew up in and that my Father and Uncles fought for…… so that my 21 great grandkids can grow up in the America that I know…..with pride. I know that in this day and time that will be a tall order……but I pray that there are enough of us patriots left to overcome those who want to change and replace our beautiful country with a Socialistic one. Fifty-three years ago, when newly elected Dwight Eisenhower moved into the White House, America’s southern frontier was as porous as a spaghetti sieve. As many as 3 million illegal migrants had walked and waded northward over a period of several years for jobs in California, Arizona, Texas, and points beyond.
President Eisenhower cut off this illegal traffic. He did it quickly and decisively with only 1,075 United States Border Patrol agents – less than one-tenth of today’s force. The operation is still highly praised among veterans of the Border Patrol.
