Few would contest the lack of love that exists between former President Donald Trump and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Few, however, would contest McConnell’s political acumen. And that leads us to the revelation made on Wednesday morning: McConnell has publicly backed Trump for the presidency.
“On Wednesday, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who had previously criticized President Trump for his “disgraceful” actions after the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, publicly backed Donald Trump for president, marking a significant change in his views.”
“McConnell announced his support in a brief statement following Super Tuesday victories that moved the GOP front-runner closer to the party candidacy. McConnell was the final prominent GOP leader in Congress to align with Trump.”
“Since McConnell announced Democrat Joe Biden the victor of that year’s presidential contest, the two men had not talked. However, their teams have lately resumed discussions over an endorsement.”
McConnell stated in the statement, “It is very evident that former President Trump has gained the necessary support of GOP voters to be our nominee for President.”
Following his statement last Wednesday that he would be leaving his position as Senate leader in November, McConnell has now endorsed the candidate.
Even though endorsements aren’t everything in politics, they still matter. The fact that McConnell has publicly buried the political hatchet and endorsed Trump, despite the obvious animosity between the two, along with former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley’s decision to halt her campaign, indicates that the Republican Establishment has chosen to align itself with the front-runner.

these overly entitled, long-past retirement, bigots need to do some serious soul searching to enable the truth to escape and cleanse our nation.
It’s just a CYA move by McConnell because he and we KNOW he’s a phony that needs to be gone and possibly jailed for his collusion with Demonrats.
