In a recent interview, California Representative and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made fun of former President Trump for what she said was his part in starting the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. She said that in a recent interview that Trump gave to NBC News, he blamed others for the violence.
Pelosi talked about Trump’s claims that she was to blame for the riot at the US Capitol on MSNBC. He said that he had asked Pelosi for 10,000 National Guard troops to assist with protecting the building from riots, but that she had said no.
“Well, the last person who lived in the White House was always about showing off. He knows he’s to blame, so he puts the blame on other people. His actions led to an uprising and an attack on our constitution on the day that we were meant to approve—and did approve—the task of the electoral college as well as the outcome of the election. He also attacked the Capitol itself, the Constitution, and our democracy. It’s his fault.”
Pelosi went on to say that she and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) “begged him to send over the troops over and over again.”
“These Trump supporters attacked the Capitol, fought with the cops, and threatened my life and the life of the president, and we’re turning down the troops? There is an illness here, and it must be treated. The 2024 election must be the intervention, and we must prevail in it,” the former House Speaker continued.
But last year, House Republicans questioned the results of the Democratic House Select Committee’s investigation into the J6 incident. They also pointed out that the former Speaker turned down calls for troops to be stationed at the Capitol. Their study said that the violence was caused by a lack of planning, training, and people on the job.
“But now, Republicans in the House have thrown out their report. The report has a bunch of email and text messages from this week that the Committee didn’t pay attention to but that the Republicans discovered during their investigation. Representatives Rodney Davis, Jim Banks, Troy Nehls, Jim Jordan, and Kelly Armstrong, the Republicans on the investigation, cited the shortcomings of the Capitol Police leadership as well as the Democratic leadership, pointing out that they were more preoccupied with the ‘optics’ of the National Guard or armed police officers than with security. Part of the reason for this was that the National Guard had to be brought out for BLM and Antifa riots that occurred in the past.”
“Banks said that Pelosi was to blame for the failures, but he didn’t mention the Republicans.”
“Our report shows that the tragedy that occurred on January 6 was caused by partisanship, incompetence, and a lack of care. It also shows that Speaker Pelosi along with her office were the ones most responsible for the security collapse at the Capitol,” he said. “Unlike the fake January 6th Panel, House Republicans made a useful report that is going to keep our Capitol as well as USCP officers safe even though they don’t have the power to issue subpoenas and don’t have a budget.”
Even almost two years after the tragedy, the discussion over J6 is still going strong. Democrats have been using the riots as a way to hit Trump and his fans over and over again. Right now, they are working with Republicans who don’t like Trump to use the riot to present the case that the 14th Amendment makes it illegal for the past president to be on the ballot. So far, what they’ve done hasn’t worked.

I’m a little confused. Why should have Pelosi expected any violence? She had a daughter filming the Certification of the Electoral College. As the Trump supporters turned violent she begged Trump to deploy the National Guard but he refused. He watched the violence on television and never did allow the National Guard to be deployed. VP Pence had to do it. Why should she be vilified here for not believing ahead of time violence would be happening? The FBI knew a little about the possibility but never told anyone.
Trump didn’t offer any troops. He did the opposite. He had removed the Secretary of Defense the month before January 6th and replaced him with an Acting Secretary who issued a Memo listing a series of restrictions on the National Guard including he was in charge of deployment.
After the violence started, why did Trump refuse to deploy the Guard? He clearly wanted it.

The constitutional authority to accept the guard belongs to Pelosi and Bowser. P & B refused, indicating the optics would look bad. At that point, it was out of Trump’s hands until P & B accepted the offer. Pence may want to take credit but when P FINALLY authorized the guard, Trump’s right hand man Patel is the one who got the guard together and dispatched in record time. This was a shit show and appears to have been designed by P, to make Trump look bad. From everything I have seen and read, it looks like the FBI had agents in on it. BTW, the Capital Police work for the Speaker of the House…P again. There is much more I can say, what about Ray Epps? Why was Pelosi’s daughter filming a documentary? Why was P allowed to threaten Trump? Why was her select committee disregarding evidence favorable to Trump? Why were Republics refused admittance to being on the committee and replaced with RINOs? Why was the FBI involved in Jan 6? Why was the Capital Policeman allowed to get away with shooting an unarmed 14 year female veteran who did nothing wrong? I don’t typically watch The Blaze interviews, but Glenn Beck is intriguing bringing up many questions. This Blaze interview is with Steve Baker who is one of five journalist that has access to the Capitol security cameras and the “41,000 hours of tape”. Really, the 41,000 hours is a roll up of 1700 cameras for 24 hours. 1700 x 24 = 40,800 or almost 41,000. The other journalists are Tucker Carlson, Julie Kelly, John Soloman, and Joe Hanneman. Steve Baker states in the interview that he is being targeted by DOJ and received a subpoena in Aug 2023 for his videos taken on Jan. 6, 2021. Anyway he explains his situation and since he has learned a lot, he puts in perspective what he knows of all the loss end information of the run up and on the day of Jan. 6th. This includes who was responsible for what. He states that security for the House was the House sargaent-at-arms who reported to the Speaker (Pelosi) and the Senate security was the the Senate sargaent-at-arms who reported to the Majority Leader (McConnel).
