President Donald Trump appears to be back in full form after his brief battle with COVID-19.
After being cleared by his personal medical staff for public appearances, President Trump staged his first return rally in Sanford, Florida. During the event, the president touted his administration’s success in developing treatments for the China-born disease, and slammed Democrats for their obsessions with economic lockdowns.
“Biden would terminate our recovery, delay the vaccine, prolong the pandemic, and annihilate Florida’s economy with a draconian, unscientific lockdown — that’s what he wants to do, lock it down,” he said.
Democrat nominee Joe Biden has previously stated that he would be in favor of nationwide restrictions, including national mask mandates and continuing shutdowns for businesses.
Naturally, the fact that Trump was bold enough to step outside of his basement at all drew sharp criticism from the usual suspects.
“President Trump comes to Sanford today bringing nothing but reckless behavior, divisive rhetoric, and fear mongering,” Biden said in a prepared statement to the press. “But, equally dangerous is what he fails to bring: no plan to get this virus that has taken the lives of over 15,000 Floridians under control.”
The Biden camp has turned the administration’s response to COVID-19 into a leading campaign issue. Vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who ran against Biden during the Democratic Party’s primary selection, has previously stated that she would not accept a vaccine delivered by the Trump Administration. Biden surrogates have echoed these sentiments, claiming that the White House has been rushing the process and will deliver an imperfect product.
Personally, we’re glad that Trump seems to be back on his feet, and is adding fuel to the fire by saying he wants to go around and “kiss everybody,” including the “men and the beautiful women.”
Welcome back to the fight, President Trump!
