Trump Cranks Up Deep State Purge With Death Blow to USAID

Viersen, Germany - January 9. 2024: Smartphone screen with logo lettering of USAID government agency on computer keyboard

Elon Musk isn’t mincing words—USAID is done. The billionaire entrepreneur confirmed Monday morning that he received President Donald Trump’s approval to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), an organization notorious for pouring billions into controversial foreign projects.

During a discussion on X with Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), Musk revealed that after multiple conversations with Trump, they agreed the agency was beyond repair.

“It’s not an apple with a worm in it. It’s just a ball of worms,” Musk said. “You’ve got to get rid of the whole thing.”

The USAID website went dark on Saturday, marking a swift and decisive move to dismantle the agency.

Musk: USAID Is a “Criminal Organization”

Musk, who has taken on a leading role in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), did not hold back. He labeled USAID a “hornet’s nest”, criticizing its history of funding radical Leftist causes, including programs that actively work against American interests.

“It’s incredibly politically partisan and has been supporting radical Left causes throughout the world, including things that are anti-American—which is insane,” Musk said.

For years, USAID has pushed globalist initiatives like “comprehensive sexuality education” abroad and spent nearly $2 billion promoting COVID-19 vaccines worldwide. Trump’s decision to shut it down is a major victory against wasteful spending and unelected bureaucratic control.

Trump: “We’re Getting the Radicals Out”

President Trump confirmed the move Sunday night, slamming USAID’s leadership as a “bunch of radical lunatics”. He made it clear his administration is working to purge political activists from the agency.

“We’re getting them out,” Trump told reporters.

Musk echoed that sentiment, taking to X to celebrate the decision.

“We spent the weekend feeding USAID into the wood chipper. Could [have] gone to some great parties. Did that instead.”

In another post, he went even further:

“USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die.”

Deep State on Defense: Employees Told to Work From Home

The bureaucratic machine is already scrambling. USAID employees received an email Monday morning telling them to work remotely unless absolutely necessary.

“Personnel normally assigned to work at USAID headquarters will work remotely … with the exception of personnel with essential on-site functions,” the internal email stated.

This came after two top security officials were placed on leave for refusing to cooperate with DOGE investigators over the weekend.

Conclusion: Draining the Swamp, One Agency at a Time

Shutting down USAID is just the beginning. Musk has openly called the unelected federal bureaucracy the ‘fourth branch of government’—the most powerful and unaccountable part of Washington’s corrupt machine.

With Trump leading the charge and Musk helping clear out the rot, America is finally reining in out-of-control government spending and taking power away from the globalist elite.

USAID is gone. What’s next?
