A close relative of a victim that committed suicide as a result of the illegitimate and unconstitutional January 6 investigation is criticizing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for his cold and cruel actions.
After facing numerous charges for protesting peacefully near and inside the U.S. Capitol on January 6, Matthew Perna committed suicide in March 2022. In a recent interview, his aunt Geni Perna claimed that DeSantis disregarded all calls from January 6 whistleblowers who were protesting the abuses being committed against MAGA patriots by the government.
“There were more persons detained on January 6 in Florida than in any other state, and Ron DeSantis avoids them, despite their repeated appeals. People are in terrible need,” stated Geni Perna.
DeSantis has openly endorsed the federal inquiry launched on January 6 and has refrained from making any comments to the contrary because the investigation has turned out to be a Soviet-like witch hunt based on disinformation and dishonesty.
In 2021, he declared, “I honestly am delighted to see some folks being caught from the DC issue because I believe these prosecutions will make a big difference. It was a truly awful situation, in my opinion.”
Additionally, at the request of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), DeSantis did nothing to stop Capitol police from entering Florida and setting up an unlawful espionage operation on Americans in his state.
DeSantis stated, “I can assure you that the Police were in a very tough situation. And they might have done it in such a way that a great many people would have perished as a result.”
“In a circumstance like that, I think those men [Police] deserve credit, to be capable of steering a massive mob from inflicting a lot of other Americans harm, so good for them,” he continued.
DeSantis made those remarks after it was generally known that an Air Force veteran named Ashli Babbitt had been brutally murdered by a Capitol police officer.
Given his disgraceful remarks about January 6 and his complete lack of sympathy or concern for the Americans whose rights were broken in the days that followed, it should come as no surprise that DeSantis is quickly becoming the establishment’s preferred presidential candidate in 2024.

I have followed Jan. 6. I have concluded that Jan. 6 was protests that were valid and 1st Amendment protected free speech was attacked and opposed. Further following, I have learned that many protestors, not “insurrectionists”, as Biden and the MSM has dishonestly portrayed, were denied their First and Fourth Amendment rights. No trial and no resulting decision of guilty was legal while they were being imprisoned and held. I also learned that Trump requested free speech rights be respected/honored and called for nonviolent protests. I also learned that Pelosi and the DC Mayor ignored Trump’s request and admonitions – and the law – for their political purposes. More Democrat and MSM perfidy will ultimately be revealed – in spite of their efforts to hide. Free speech denied is freedom denied.

On tape we saw the police pulling back the barriers so the protesters could advance…we saw a man named “Epps” encouraging people to enter the building with people chanting “Fed”…supposedly the door to the capitol cannot be opened from the outside…then who opened it?
