The mainstream news media has long given President Biden a pass, ignoring the scandals, his onset dementia, and his many false statements. Even so, his recent CNN Town Hall performance with “journalist” Don Lemon was so bad that even the AP had to fact-check his multiple false statements.
The most notable was the president’s claim that people who have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine won’t get COVID-19, a statement that flies in the face of reality. Half a dozen members of a team of fully vaccinated Democrat lawmakers from Texas recently came to visit Washington D.C., and later tested positive for the virus. Several aides to Democrat lawmakers also experienced breakthrough COVID-19 infections even though they are fully vaccinated.
The claim that people who have received the COVID-19 jab can’t get infected is just one of the many President’s false statements. He later went on to claim that people who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 don’t have to worry about being hospitalized for or dying. The statement is also disproven as recent statistics from reliable sources show that nearly 5,500 fully vaccinated people who later tested positive for COVID-19 either died or had to be hospitalized.
President Biden also misrepresented his economic accomplishments, claiming that his administration has created more jobs than any other administration in American history. The Associated Press has rated the claim as “misleading,” noting that while job creation in the first six months is record-breaking, it’s only because the population is larger than it was in times past.
In actuality, job growth in the late 1970s was higher at 2.2 percent. At present, it’s only 2.1 percent. What’s more, there are nearly 7 million fewer jobs than there were before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the unemployment rate is at nearly 6 percent, as compared to former President Trump’s record-setting low of 3.5 percent before the pandemic. The latter statistic can be attributed largely to President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, which offered workers an incentive to stay home and collect government checks rather than get out and find a job.
While the mainstream media continues, for the most part, to praise the Biden Administration’s actions and proposals, it’s clear that the president is spreading falsehoods. COVID-19 vaccines do not offer absolute immunity. The economy isn’t recovering nearly as well as pundits say.
Sadly, the president seems far too busy tooting his own horn to address the very real concerns and needs of those who are suffering.
