In 2016, Hillary Clinton effectively stole the Democratic Party’s nomination from Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. As the 2020 primary plays out, the most hated woman in America has, again, inserted herself into the process, and turned the presidential hopefuls into a pack of cat-fighting backstabbers. Yes, Hillary is the gift that keeps on giving.
It’s difficult to know whether Hillary’s attacks on the current field are sour grapes or pure envy, but she’s managed to tear open the festering wounds from the 2016 campaign and spark in-fighting noticeably absent until making her presence felt.
“He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done,” Clinton said trashing Sen. Sanders in a recent Hulu documentary. “He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney, and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”
Hillary refused to throw any support behind the socialist Vermont senator, instead leveling disparaging remarks about his campaign, grassroots supporters, and posing them all as villains.
“I will say, however, that it’s not only him, it’s the culture around him. It’s his leadership team. It’s his prominent supporters. It’s his online ‘Bernie Bros,’ and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women,” Clinton added. “And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, (he) seems to really be very much supporting it.”
So spiteful is Hillary that President Donald Trump called her a “nasty woman” during the run-up to the 2016 election. She’s done nothing to shed that label and a great deal to prove her reputation true. One Democrat strategist remarked on the reason for Hillary’s general disdain of popular political icons such as Sen. Sanders by saying, “How many folks are responsible for her losing the most winnable campaign in history?” Ouch!
And Hillary has been actively trolling other Democrat upstarts as their stars within the party begin to shine. She unexpectedly went after Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard for no apparent reason.
“I’m not making any predictions, but I think (the Russians) got their eye on somebody who’s currently in the Democratic primary, and they’re grooming her to be the third-party candidate,” Clinton went on. “She’s the favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far, and that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up because she’s also a Russian asset.”
It was a puzzling attack, considering Rep. Gabbard had been trailing in the polls and was only considered a long-shot candidate at best. It was also a familiar one Hillary has yet to stop throwing at Pres. Trump, despite his full exoneration after the Russia witch hunt. Rep. Gabbard has filed a civil lawsuit against Hillary requesting $50 million in damages.
“Whether out of personal animus, political enmity, or fear of real change within a political party Clinton and her allies have long dominated,” the lawsuit reportedly states. “Clinton lied about her perceived rival, Tulsi Gabbard.”
Gabbard, a four-term Congresswoman and former National Guard major, took a return shot at Hillary that — although justified—has only increased the turmoil within the Democratic party.
“Thank you @HillaryClinton,” Gabbard reportedly tweeted. “You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain. From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.”
Rep. Gabbard and candidate Tom Steyer both threw support behind Sen. Sanders in an effort to maintain the appearance of party unity. But as the bombshell book Profiles in Corruption exposed the Biden family’s money-grabs and his disgraceful voting record came to the forefront, Sleazy Joe Biden has unleashed negative campaign ads — ironically — calling Sen. Sanders a lair.
The air of unity the field of Democrat hopefuls once put forward to unseat Pres. Trump is gone. They look more look a pack of wolves fighting over a piece of meat. Thank you, Hillary.
