The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has been given the task of developing a new technology that will be required to be installed in all new motor vehicles from 2026: a breathalyzer of sorts.
This is part of the infrastructure bill, which is costing taxpayers trillions of dollars and could also be used in the future to monitor drivers’ carbon emissions and charge a carbon tax based on that data, or even give out driving fines to those who speed.
According to the legislation, the system should “passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired.”
The infrastructure bill also proposes to collect driver data so that the vehicle owner can be charged per-mile travel fees.
Rather than blowing into a tube, the technology would use infra-red cameras (because of course, Big Brother will certainly be watching you), and according to the AP, each General Motors, BMW and Nissan are already installing similar systems in their vehicles to “track driver attentiveness.”
Al Gore, the former vice president of Bill Clinton, who reinvented himself into a climate alarmist and Nostradamus wannabe after his career in politics ended, praised the move, lauding the technology and saying that it would make it easier to monitor those who are guilty of climate “crimes.”
It would be a fair assumption to say that those most responsible for heavy carbon emissions would be himself and his climate cronies. Al Gore and hypocrisy go together like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Gore is well known to be one of those people who does not practice what he preaches. He will browbeat Western nations into economy-breaking policies to “lower carbon emissions,” but at the same time, he’s driving a Hummer, owning shares in ExxonMobil and flying around the globe in private jets — doing this to talk about how much carbon is emitted from airplanes.
We have reached a new level of ridiculousness.
In an interview on MSNBC‘s ‘Andrea Mitchell Reports,’ Gore was enthusiastic about the technology, which has been called nothing more than a means of mass surveillance.
“We get data consistently from 300 existing satellites, more than 11,000 ground-based, air-based, sea-based sensors, multiple internet data streams and using artificial intelligence,” Gore said. “All that information is combined, visible light, infrared, all of the other information that is brought in, and we can now accurately determine where the greenhouse gas emissions are coming from.”
“And next year we’ll have it down to the level of every single power plant, refinery, every large ship, every plane, every waste dump, and we’ll have the identities of the people who are responsible for each of those greenhouse gas emission streams,” Gore added. “And if investors or governments, or civil society activists want to hold them responsible, they will have the information upon which to base their action and holding them responsible.”
“For the common good” is a phrase that has been on repeat since the start of the COVID-19 “pandemic,” and this proposed move to monitor millions of Americans is just another example of rights being trampled “for the common good.”
One question that is always left unanswered is, what exactly are those carbon taxes doing to combat “climate change”?
China and India are two of the top polluters, while the United States, despite its size and industrial capabilities, contributes only a fraction to overall emissions.
Yet, America is expected to be the one who foots the bill…

How Biden plans to destroy the auto industry. I’m certainly not a fan of drunk drivers but I don’t want the government watching everything I do or where I go. Its my understanding that cars since 2014 have had a GPS device in them to track where the vehicle goes. I drive an older vehicle and will NEVER buy a 2014 or newer vehicle. Just because I don’t want the government knowing everything I’m doing. I also don’t use an I-phone for the same reason.

The value of 2025 vehicles will be extremely high in the used car market. The phrase “for the common good” has been used since the at least the 60’s when seat belts were required to be installed in all autos. Then later when unleaded fuel and paint was forced on us. The mileage tax will be dumped on top of the road fuel tax and the toll road fees and the electricity tax for your home and car recharging station. Hello big brother will know where each and everyone of us are. Eliminating cash will be coming soon so the Govt. will know everything we purchase and where. Sounds like paranoia if it was reported just a few years ago but now it will be a fact of life and accepted like death and taxes.
