There’s a serious case to be made to limit presidential campaigns to just six months before election day: and it comes in the form of the Democratic Party’s current primary season.
With seemingly everyone with a ‘D’ next to their name vying for the top spot, it didn’t take long for just about every major campaign to fall apart right in front of our eyes. The frontrunner can’t remember his own name. The distant runner-up has lied about everything from her employment to her own genetic make up. And the next-best option just had a heart attack — right after repeating the same Marxist mantra he’s been bellowing for the better part of four decades.
Democratic voters can’t admit this yet, but we see it as clear as day: there is no viable candidate to take on President Donald Trump in 2020. Just imagine any single one of the candidates we’ve seen from the blue team standing on a stage next to the President: how do you really think that would go? Biden might find himself accidentally agreeing with whatever Trump says, before timing himself out to safe face. We can easily picture Warren nervously staggering her way through forced sentences, as if she really is the third Hillary campaign.
How did Democrats manage to screw this up so badly? At this point, the election truly is Trump’s to lose. And while there’s definitely room to argue about his own campaign brass, there’s no question that his competition has a lot of work to do. Maybe they’ll actually hit up Wisconsin this time? Who knows if that will even work at this point. Middle America has a clear picture of what the Democrats think about them.
There are a lot of ways to pick this apart, but we’ll let Razorfist do the rest.
