Why AOC, Beto Are Wildly Popular Among Dems May Scare You

The immense popularity of New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and politically unemployed Robert “Beto” O’Rourke seems counterintuitive given the fact neither has accomplished anything of consequence.

The New York upstart managed to unseat a long-standing and powerful Democrat on a radical platform that included “Socialism will Win.” It hasn’t won anywhere else in the world. O’Rourke, the Texan who reportedly nicknamed himself “Beto,” garnered a staggering $80 million in a failed bid to oust Sen. Ted Cruz. He lost but and is now — oddly — a darling to get the Democratic Party’s presidential nod. If you are a conservative or moderate, their enormous popularity that plasters news feeds feels like we are living in an alternate reality. That is because you are.

Think in terms of the Superman comic book hero. Hailing from Krypton, Kal-El adopts the human persona of Clark Kent by day and becomes Superman in times of crisis. But DC Comics has an alternative version, i.e., Evil Superman or the “Bizarro.” No one is suggesting Beto and AOC are Superman or Supergirl. Quite to the contrary. They are the alternative versions that would destroy constitutional republicanism as we know it.

If either occupied the White House, American sovereignty would end with open borders, and wealthy, job-creating citizens would be taxed out of the country at a rate of 70 percent. Businesses would shutter, abject poverty would ensue. It would be Armageddon for the United States.

Despite all the stupid fact errors AOC and, to some extent, Beto makes on what seems like a daily basis, a recent poll shows that upwards of 75 percent of Democrats would vote for AOC, and Beto is currently garnering donor support and endorsements to make a run at the presidency.

On its face, this level of popularity and political weight makes no sense. That is until you compare these pair of radical liberals to the crowded primary GOP field that gave us President Donald Trump.

When the Republican primaries ramped up, political “experts” literally mocked the possibility that a reality TV star and luxury hotel billionaire with no political experience could win the highest office in the land. This did not include conservative commentator Ann Coulter, who was ridiculed for her prediction.

What ensued was a populist revolution in which conservatives and Americans angry about politicians who put their whims before their constituents voted “No.” No to business as usual, no to high taxes, no to jobs being shipped overseas. Although the Washington elite was shocked, voters were finally vindicated. They put one of their own in the White House.

In an alternative universe, liberals feel very much the same way populists and conservative voters did in 2016. They don’t like what they are getting from the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and want someone who serves their ideals. In Pres. Trump’s case, voters wanted meat and potatoes change that included deregulation, better jobs, and low unemployment — and they got it.

Liberals want to save the world on an emotional level. Facts don’t actually matter. When AOC says the world will end in 12 years, the left knows Al Gore said the same thing, and it didn’t happen. The right-wing media calling her ridiculous claims and lack of factual knowledge stupid does not resonate with Democrat voters. Keep in mind, the left-leaning media has been calling the president a liar every time he exaggerates or misses a statistic by a single digit since the 2016 campaign.

Perhaps Greg Gutfeld on Fox News’ “The Five” explained this hiccup best. He pointed out that liberals are not interested in AOC being factually correct, they are excited that she is “directionally” correct. In other words, she is saying the things they feel. The National Review ran a piece titled, “Beto is Ridiculous. But it Might Work.” Much like Pres. Trump, she has her finger on the pulse of left-leaning voters, and so does Beto.

In many ways, AOC and Beto are energizing the left in a similar fashion to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. The self-proclaimed socialist screams — literally — Medicare for all and free college tuition. He may as well say a chicken in every pot and two cars in every garage — as long as they are Tesla e-cars.

Beto could very easily win the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination if it is not already being rigged for Joe Biden. He’s the new face that embodies the far left’s radical ideas. AOC will only garner more magazine covers and become increasingly influential once Pelosi steps down. They are the Bizarro alter-ego of the populists that have restored American prosperity. They say what liberals feel — reason and logic be damned.
