Without Trump, Economy Shows True Signs of Recession

When President Donald Trump was in the White House, the mainstream media howled daily that his economic policies would plunge the country into another Great Recession. But every fact-based metric pointed to the country finally getting back on its feet after the failed Obama policies hamstrung the U.S. for eight brutal years.

But with Joe Biden in charge, the fast recovery from the pandemic has ground to a near halt. Since Biden went to work eliminating nearly 100,000 existing jobs and nixing 1 million future employment opportunities, America appears to be truly heading off the recession cliff.

In January, employment rose by a meager 80,000 jobs, a net increase of only 49,000 positions. But what much of the fake news media isn’t talking about is that figure was inflated by temporary hiring. The Wall Street Journal recently pushed back on the narrative that the workers continue to make gains.

“The Labor Department on Friday reported that the economy added a seasonally adjusted 49,000 jobs last month, which was in line with what economists expected, but it also revised the December and November figures down by a combined 159,000 jobs,” the Wall Street Journal reports. “But that came about in part because fewer people were looking for work and weren’t counted in the labor force as a result.”

The financial news outlet also pointed out that two primary indicators demonstrate that blue-collar workers continue to suffer. The Wall Street Journal reports, “retailers shed a seasonally adjusted 37,800 jobs in January, and that restaurant and bar employment fell by 19,400 jobs.”

Democrats continue to implement unnecessary limits on business capacity. And with a reported “9.9 million fewer Americans working in January than before the pandemic struck, even if things go really well it could take a long time before the job market is truly healthy again,” the Wall Street Journal states.

By contrast, former President Trump was orchestrating the most extraordinary economic turnaround in history. The pandemic caused unemployment rates to rise to 14.8 percent in April after enjoying 50-plus-year lows. His strategies quickly jump-started a recovery. In the ensuing months, the Trump Administration ramped up the production of protective masks, essential goods, and hand sanitizers. By the November election, unemployment had been cut by more than half to 6.7 percent. That’s an unprecedented 8 percent decline in joblessness in about six months.

With President Trump in office, there was a pervasive sense that the country was only in the midst of a pause. Despite fake news media outlets hyping another Great Depression, the Trump-driven data pointed to hard-working Americans expediently returning to work. Operation Warp Speed would create and distribute a vaccine in a record-breaking time frame. People had faith in President Trump and they knew his determined advisors would get the job done. That confidence was upended when Biden and Kamala Harris snatched the White House.

Since Biden seized power, he has gone on the record telling the American public there is nothing he can do about the spread. With his focus on killing energy sector jobs, the unemployment rate has only ticked down from 6.7 to 6.3 percent — less than half of a percent. Even that minuscule gain is an illusion buttressed by temporary hiring. Everyday Americans have seen this tragically misguided story before. He is making the same mistakes as Obama. Biden is making America less great, again.
