Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that President Joe Biden has “abandoned’ Americans at the border.
“This is escalating into a firing war on each side of the border where Texas and our National Guard are having to defend themselves and defend the state of Texas,” Abbott said during the interview.
He may have been referring to a recent report by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin who shared a video on Twitter of firing from the Mexican side of the border as he recorded alongside National Guard troops at the Texas-Mexico border.
“The Biden administration has completely abandoned all the people who live on the border, and they’ve abandoned people in the state of Texas, and Maria, these are counties and these are people who traditionally have voted Democrat that the Biden administration is ignoring, and he’s putting them in danger,” Abbott later added.
Biden may have thought he was ending war when he withdrew troops from Afghanistan. Now he faces a new type of war along our own border. This time, the battle is on our own land. Local ranchers now talk about carrying a gun every time they leave home because they no longer feel safe.
Some neighbors leave out food and water for those passing through in hopes that migrants don’t damage their property or threaten them. This is no longer about showing compassion to migrants. It’s about the national security of American citizens.
But Biden proved in Afghanistan that he doesn’t seem to care about American citizens too much. Instead, he was willing to leave behind people when it didn’t fit his agenda. The same is happening now along our own border.
Instead, Texas has to put up its own fence and use its own National Guard to protect its people. A few other states have courageously joined by sending some of their own Guard members. But even with the assistance of a few states, the conditions remain unsafe.
In addition, the lack of enforcement means most of those who cross the border end up remaining in the country. Sadly, this means the National Guard is mostly around to keep violence from breaking out.
But even that role may not last much longer. Some claims of 80,000 or more migrants heading toward the border soon may overwhelm the current security available. While Pelosi wants to listen to every phone call from Jan. 6, the left is missing the most serious security threat to our nation right at our southern border.
This is no longer a partisan issue. Every American should be concerned about the number of people crossing the border with no vetting or background check. In some cases, we are importing criminals and cartel members. Who knows, we may have already imported the next terrorist to strike in our land.
There’s not even a way to tell right now, and that’s with the border still officially closed. It’s time to protect our own nation, starting along the southern border.
The sad thing you have people like George W Bush saying the Jan 6 ordeal was just as bad a 9/11 when W Bush lives in Texas and he knows the true story of the Border chaos. The large number of immigrants from so many different countries crossing the border there is no telling who actually is crossing the border and what there motives are. Since Biden stopped Border Agent from doing there job and there is no telling how many Terrorist have crossed our southern border.
Biden does not know what he is doing to our great country.He is doing nothing to protect our borders and that will destroy our great country.He is the worst president we ever had.He has to be impeached now.

Build the wall, build the XL pipeline, round up and ship home all those arrested violating state laws; fine and arrest all businesses hiring them. There are countless ways and means for the states to band together and do what needs done! Build more infrastructures, plants, refineries, and so forth! We want people to come to America, BUT the right way, the legal way. It is time for the states to step up even more- do all the things needed to protect, prosper, and benefit the citizens of the states in which they reside.
