A “congestion charge” of as much as $23 per trip will be imposed on citizens and visitors entering Lower Manhattan by the Democrat-controlled New York City.
The Biden administration is undoubtedly in favor of this.
“After a public review process closes this week, President Biden’s admin. will permit NYC to proceed with a historic scheme that would charge automobiles entering Lower Manhattan.”
“However, because it expressly charges individuals to drive in the congested region below 60th Street through Manhattan, it would represent the first such scheme of its sort in the country. In effect, it functions like any other toll.”
“The idea had been put off for years, but this past month it reached a turning point when the Federal Highway Admin. approved the release of an environmental study. The report is accessible for public scrutiny until next week, and it seems probable that the federal government is going to quickly accept it.”
By the following spring, the Central Business District Tolls Program in New York will charge you a fee for the privilege of driving through the city that can range from $9 to $23, depending on the vehicle you are driving and the volume of traffic. Each time, that is. Thus, if you need to rush back home because you forgot something… If you love having lunch at home… If you need to pick up your children from school at various times… Can you picture it?
Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) stated that “this program is essential to New York City’s future success.”
Of course, nobody mentions the additional traffic that results from people waiting in line to use the toll booth.
CNN, a left-wing propaganda website that promotes violence and conspiracy theories, called the Nazi program a “landmark” and warned that it may spread to other cities.
Everything the Democrats and the media say to support this is just nonsense. The camel nose in the tent is all that this program is. You are being deprived of the freedom and independence that come with owning a car by the camel itself, who is employing a variety of punishing laws.
This is only the start. The federal interstates will install toll booths with the same purpose when the Democrat-run cities make owning a car expensive.
Why would anyone want to go or live there anyway? A total piece of crap community! Just move to a better place, like the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida!
and when everybody stops going there it will be so much greener and then overgrown and run down as no-one is spending any time or money there. Businesses will leave as no profit is very poor business model. then no tax revenue to support the infrastructure. sure hope they invest their new toll wisely cause its gonna have to last a long time!

It would be laughable, if it weren’t so awful. I lived in N.Y., and they didn’t take care of their infrastructure then and they still don’t. Scaffolds decorate the fronts of so many buildings throughout the city that they’ve become permanent eyesores. For all the taxes they get, you can see it’s not to make the city any better for the people. I hate to think what the sewers and water mains look like. Now with the violence so common there, you couldn’t pay me to go there. I’m sure I’m not the only one. They deserve to lose the people who have lived there. The N.Y. government is so corrupt, it’s just a lost cause while Democrats rule.
