This week, the State Water Resources Control Board of California put up a proposal for rules that would permit “toilet-to-tap” projects that recycle wastewater and then add it back into drinking water systems.
The board stated:
“The State Water Resources Control Board today unveiled new regulations that would permit water agencies to supplement their potable supply with wastewater that has been properly treated to levels that meet or surpass all drinking water criteria. By using a technique called direct potable recycling, systems are going to be able to provide a water source that is climate resilient while releasing less wastewater into rivers and the sea.”
“In order to recycle wastewater into drinking water requirements in a few hours, direct wastewater reuse completely depends on fast, multi-barrier treatments. In contrast, the indirect potable reuse technique, which is now being used in significant projects launched around the state, progressively improves wastewater that has been treated through groundwater recharging or diluting with surface water. While formal direct potable reuse programs cannot be started in California until the laws are established, pilot projects have recently been started by water services in Santa Clara, San Diego, and the city of LA.”
“The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California as well as the Sanitation Districts have teamed up on a new initiative to see if it is feasible to clean and reuse a significant portion of the county’s water that is now dumped into the ocean.”
“I was the first journalist to be given access to a brand-new demonstrations project known as the Advanced Purification Center, that, once it is operational, could lead to a full-blown recycled water establishment able to purify as much as 150 million out of the 250 million gallons each day that pass through a Joint Water Polluting Control Plant in the city of Los Angeles, or JWPCP.”
“The testing facility, whose construction started in 2017, is finished. It will use a unique process to purify about 500,000 gallons of water each day from JWPCP. This process starts by using microorganisms to eliminate ammonia along with other nitrogen compounds from the water, followed by advanced filters to get rid of solids in addition to microorganisms and reverse osmosis membranes to finish purifying the water, just like in a desalination factory.”
“The water that has been treated, while far too salty for immediate consumption, is just over a tenth as salty as seawater, making the procedure less costly and energy-intensive compared to desalination.”
“Once verified, the plant could potentially be expanded, and officials told me that if everything went according to plan and the state authorized every required permit, the plant could possibly be functional in 11 years.”
By the year’s end, the new rules may be passed.
Democrats just have to keep finding ways to fuck up the systems. Just leave it alone and go fuck up your own life and leave mine alone. We built a semiconductor plant in the Bay Area way back in the early 80s that was intended to produce gallium arsenide discrete devices for microwave communications. You could have your goldfish in a tank full of our effluent water. I don’t recall anyone ever suggesting that we drink it. Quick! Someone call John Francois Kerry and tell him to F off.

The Democrats seem to want to make this a dictator country with them, of course, the controllers. They are worried that Trump will win in 2024 and put a stop to their corruption and start holding them accountable for all their actions.
Just take a quick look at who they have running the country. A man who doesn’t know where he is, what he is supposed to be doing and spending the taxpayers money like there is no end to it, A woman in Congress that her qualifications are ,she was a bartender. Another one that married her brother. Corrupt liars like Schiff and Pelosi, and dozens more that are not qualified for the job.
They are not trying to help the American people, just themselves. Everybody with an ounce of common sense can see they stole the last election, but are worried they may not be able to steal the next one, and they know that if Trump runs he will win and they are doing everything they can, legally or illegally to stop him from running, and it’s not working.
Biden has been in office 2 1/2 years and spent about a year of that on vacation, and the democrats used to gripe all the time about Trump going to one of his golf courses and playing golf on his days off. Biden needs to go back and hide in his basement for the rest of his term. It would be the biggest asset to this country he could do.
