DeSantis Reveals His Bold Plans For The FBI

Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, wants to dismantle the FBI and Department of Justice, remove significant portions of both organizations and move FBI headquarters outside of Washington, D.C.

DeSantis has promised to execute a “disciplined” and “relentless” approach, replace a significant portion of the DOJ and its subsidiary staff, and transform the Justice Department into what the “Founding Fathers intended.”

According to reports from Real Clear Politics, DeSantis declared this week, “We are not going allow all this power build up in Washington, we are going to break down these agencies.”

DeSantis noted that the federal agencies were “actively going after pro-life activists,” looking into parents at school board sessions “who are concerned regarding things that include the critical race theory and requiring kids to wear masks,” and “colluding with technology companies to censor information regarding things like what they did in connection with the 2020 election. We have seen all over this country that the DOJ and the FBI are ruled by one faction within our society,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis has addressed modifications that need to be made with Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Chip Roy (R-TX), both ardent conservatives, as well as former assistant AG Steven Bradbury along with Victor Davis Hanson of the Hoover Institution. Bradbury has pushed DeSantis to act without waiting for Congress by using his potential executive authority. The FBI’s ability to meddle in political affairs would be curtailed, he claimed, while it would “beef up and emphasize the field offices.” He claimed that DeSantis could “relocate the Bureau of Investigation’s headquarters” himself and then combine the FBI’s public affairs, general counsel, and government relations offices with the DOJ.

DeSantis stated, “If you are performing inadequately, you should be fired,” expressing the opinion that the level of position was irrelevant when deciding whether to fire someone. “It does not matter if you are a political appointee or a bureaucrat.” He threatened to terminate any Justice Department employee who leaked details about a grand jury inquiry to the media. DeSantis declared, “We’re going to dismiss individuals if they’re leaking.”

If elected, DeSantis has declared that he will dismiss Christopher Wray, the FBI director. Additionally, he said that he will order the DOJ to identify and hold “liable” progressive prosecutors across the nation who “are refraining from prosecuting cases involving violent criminals.” He hasn’t shied away from carrying out a high-level termination; last year, he dispatched law enforcement to oust Democrat mega-donor George Soros’s supported Andrew Warren, the woke State Attorney of the 13th Judicial Circuit, from office.

“State Attorneys have an obligation to bring charges for crimes as defined in Florida law and are not allowed to pick and choose what laws to implement based on their own personal agenda,” DeSantis said in a statement, adding that he has the constitutional power to oust Warren. Tucker Carlson, the former anchor of Fox News, was informed by him that “Soros prosecutors across the country” had “basically taken it upon themselves to decide which regulations need to be followed, and which laws shouldn’t be followed.”

Some former intelligence officers would have their security clearances revoked, according to DeSantis, who also mentioned the large number of former senior intelligence officials who signed a letter in the eyes of the public claiming the report about Hunter Biden’s laptop was false and originated in Russia. He referred to the letter as “a lie.”
