Leftists Boycott Minority-Owned Goya Foods After CEO Praises Trump

Praise for President Trump from Goya Foods CEO Robert Unanue caused enraged Democrats to call for a mass boycott of their products, but many prominent conservatives have stood up to offer their support for the company and have taken to social media to spread the good word.

Unanue appeared with Trump at a White House event this week to promote the White House Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, which is designed to expand educational and economic opportunities for Hispanic-Americans. He made this simple statement that triggered the Left and caused a boycott, “We’re all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder.”

On Friday, Senator Ted Cruz, (R-TX) posted his support on his social media account: “Goya is a staple of Cuban food. My grandparents ate Goya black beans twice a day for nearly 90 years. And now the Left is trying to cancel Hispanic culture and silence free speech. #BuyGoya”

President Trump also showed his support for the company via his social media posts, “I LOVE @GoyaFoods!”

Typical loud-mouth Left celebrities such as former model Chrissie Teigen and the ever-so-incompetent Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, (D-NY) have made efforts to advance the boycott in retaliation to Unanue’s support for the president.

“The next step republicans [sic] will do (mark my words, they did this with my equinox tweets as well) is say you aren’t supporting the workers if you boycott,” Teigen said via social media.

“Oh look, it’s the sound of me Googling ‘how to make your own Adobo,'” AOC posted on her social media account.

The boycott has absolutely no merit and is just another attempt from the radical Democrats’ cancel culture and desire to destroy the country.

Many find the boycott ridiculous, including Meghan McCain, who warned that it might result in job loss during the already difficult economic situations caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“It seems weird & callous to boycott a company who supplies food to the masses and employs 4,000 people during a pandemic,” she said on social media. “No matter what your politics, who wants more people out of work? Almost every CEO, boss, & person I interact with and consume products from disagrees with me.”

Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk also criticized the Goya Foods boycott, noting the harm it would cause minorities.

“Imagine boycotting one of America’s largest minority-owned businesses and thinking that you’re doing something to end racism,” he posted via social media. “That’s the current mindset of the leaders of the Democrat party.”

Unanue has refused to back down to the haters, and has called the retaliation against him for supporting the president and visiting the White House “suppression of speech.”

During an interview with “Fox & Friends” on Friday, he said he was previously invited to the White House by the Obama administration for an event during Hispanic Heritage Month. “So, you’re allowed to talk good or to praise one president, but you’re not allowed to aid in economic and educational prosperity? And you make a positive comment and all of a sudden, it is not acceptable,” Unanue said.

Welcome to the distorted Left, Mr. Unanue.
