It was reported this week by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) that she was working on legislation to cut off funding for the special counsel inquiry regarding former President Trump.
She tweeted, “This morning, I’m going to submit an appropriations amendment to DEFUND Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office as well as his whole investigation.”
She also promised to reject any budget measure that supplied funding for the “weaponization of government.”
“I will definitely NOT support ANY funding bill that promotes the weaponization of government,” she continued. “I hope all of my GOP colleagues will stand with me.”
This week, Smith claimed purposeful retention of sensitive national security material against Trump on 31 different Espionage Act offenses. For the first time ever, a president has been accused of breaking the Espionage Act.
These charges were made on the exact same day on which members of the House Investigative Committee’s Republican party received an FBI paper detailing an informant’s claims that President Biden along with his son Hunter Biden had participated in a bribery conspiracy involving a Ukrainian CEO in which they would each get $5 million in compensation.
Since the indictment, as Breitbart News has reported, there has been an increasing chorus of calls from right-leaning pundits for Republicans to remove Biden from office.
Since Biden’s presidency began, Greene has been one of the few House Republicans pressing for his impeachment. Following Trump’s indictment by the special counsel, she called again.
