The Department of Justice (DOJ) has reportedly been considering the possibility of charges aimed at the former president regarding his alleged behavior during the uprising on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) defended Trump in the wake of the revelations.
The U.S. House Speaker told reporters this week that he doesn’t believe the former president should be charged with a crime in connection with January 6.
McCarthy remarked, “I don’t see how this guy could possibly be found criminally responsible. What sort of crime did he commit? He advised everyone to maintain peace.”
The former president disclosed on Truth Social this past week that he was going to have to go before a grand jury within the next few days and that “deranged” special counsel Jack Smith would probably indict him.
“Nothing even close to this has ever taken place in our country, not even remotely…THIS WITCH HUNT IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY A POLITICAL WEAPONIZATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND ELECTION INTERFERENCE! It is a really depressing and terrible day for our country,” he declared.
Trump was angry that the justice department was pursuing him, according to McCarthy, who claimed that he and the former president spoke this week. He further disputed that he had ever had a “strategy session” with Republicans to discuss how to react to Trump’s indictments.
McCarthy asserted that “the Democrats’ Department of Justice, which targets anyone running for president, is where the planning meetings take place. It appears that you are more inclined to get indicted if your poll numbers rise.”
Mitch McConnell, the minority leader of the U.S. Senate, chose not to comment on the situation.
McConnell informed reporters, “I’ve indicated every week out here that I am not going to discuss any of the contenders for the presidency. I stated my feelings about that at the time, but I won’t begin to criticize the various presidential contenders now.”
Numerous GOP officials have defended the former president, as Breitbart News reported.
“President Trump’s advantage in the polls just became bigger. So what next for the Biden Administration? Weaponize the federal government to take on President Biden’s main rival. This is not a just system. The American people are sick of it, and it’s wrong,” according to McCarthy.
I want Biden and his thugs brought up on charges immediately, enough just getbit done and stop doing nothing.

We need to charge Biden with classified documents of when he was a Senator right up to his vice president at least Donald Trump had his and his home where Biden had a whole lot in his garage sitting by his precious Corvette and at college that was unsecured none of his documents were secured they were out where anybody could go in and take them so yes we need to start indicting Biden on anything we could throw out there to show the Democrats what goes around comes around that he and they are not above the law and he also needs to be indicted for weaponizing the federal government the DOJ and the FBI and if he can be indicted for opening the Border and making us less safe and so be it but I think the biggest indictment should come from him committing treason against the United States
