President Joe Biden faces concerning news about his prospects for re-election, with notable declines in support among key demographic groups that played a crucial role in his 2020 victory.
The latest USA Today poll reveals that Biden is experiencing a significant erosion of support among Hispanic voters, black voters, and young voters—groups that were pivotal in securing his victory in the previous election.
In the 2020 election, Biden won the Hispanic vote by a substantial 33-point margin over Donald Trump, with 65% support to Trump’s 32%. However, the recent poll indicates that Biden now trails Trump among Hispanic voters by a five-point margin, with 39% supporting Trump compared to 34% for Biden.
The poll also reveals a substantial drop in Biden’s support among black voters, with a staggering 24-point decline. While Biden secured 87% of the black vote in 2020, only 63% of black voters now support him. Trump’s support among black voters remains at 12%, mirroring the level of support he received in the previous election.
Among voters under the age of 35, Trump holds a four-point lead over Biden, with 37% supporting Trump and 33% supporting Biden, according to the USA Today poll.
These findings, coming just ten months before the upcoming election, are significant due to the traditional alignment of these voter groups with the Democratic Party. The fact that Trump is leading Biden among two of these groups underscores the challenges facing Biden’s candidacy.
While USA Today noted a “possible good news” angle by suggesting that Biden’s declining support might be shifting toward third-party candidates rather than Trump, David Paleologos, director of Suffolk’s Political Research Center, offered a different perspective. He explained that although Trump has not increased his support among blacks, he has narrowed the gap because third-party voters are coming from Biden’s support among black voters. Paleologos emphasized that a vote for a third-party candidate by a young person or someone of color effectively takes a vote away from Biden and indirectly benefits Donald Trump.
Currently, according to RealClearPolitics, Trump holds an average lead of 2.3% over Biden in major polls. This marks a significant shift from the 2020 election campaign, during which Trump did not lead Biden in polling averages leading up to the election.
One would need a conscience to be devastated. Biden does not have one.

People, even some Democrats are finally beginning to realize how corrupt and crooked the political parties have become. Anymore, their number one and only priority is geting re-elected. to hell with the American people and this country. There is nothing they won’t do ,legally or illegally to get the votes. I think this has probably been going on for decdes, it is just getting more obvious now. This needs to stop. We need term limits more now than ever before.. Some of thes people have been in office most of their lives, like Biden, done nothing, are now millionaires and couldn’t care less what happens to the people unless it might cost them some votes. What is happening to this country and the American people today is unbelievable, and the fact that there are people who condone what is going on is even more unbelievable. Both parties need to stop this voting the party, even if it is someone as crooked and corrupt as Biden and vote for whoever they think will do the best job, and if they don’t do the job, vote them out and try someone else.
