Washington Stunned By Biden Team Secret Hospitalization

New details have emerged regarding the hospitalization of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and the delayed notification to top White House officials, including President Joe Biden. Austin was hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for “complications following a recent elective medical procedure.” The Department of Defense did not publicly disclose this information until late in the week, prompting concerns about transparency and communication within the administration.

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and other senior White House aides reportedly did not learn about Austin’s hospitalization until Thursday, and President Biden himself was not informed for several days. The situation has raised questions about the handling of critical information within the administration.

Austin issued a statement expressing gratitude for the medical care he received and acknowledging the need for better communication. He took responsibility for the decision regarding disclosure of his medical procedure.

Deputy Secretary Kathleen Hicks assumed Austin’s duties while he was hospitalized, despite being on vacation in Puerto Rico. Austin did not fully resume his responsibilities until Friday evening.

The delayed notification has drawn criticism from members of the media, including the Pentagon Press Association, which expressed outrage and requested a meeting to address the situation. Some lawmakers, including Sen. Tom Cotton, have also called for an explanation from the Department of Defense.

Despite the concerns raised by the delayed notification, a White House official stated that President Biden has “full confidence” in Austin and looks forward to his return to the Pentagon.

The incident highlights the challenges of transparency and communication within the government, especially when it comes to the health and well-being of high-ranking officials.

  1. Elective surgery, did not inform anyone, so left his post without a replacement, dereliction of duty. This is an example of our leaders’ concern for American lives. He knew ahead of time that he was having the surgery, he had to have access to report his visit to the ICU. They are acting like this is normal. We are in the middle of two active biden wars, China is watching as is Iran. They are laughing and planning while the media, including Faux are covering for this. Shameful!
